School Morning Breakfast

School will soon be starting, and so will the morning rush to get everyone dressed, fed, and to the classroom on time. For a quick and easy school morning breakfast, try this strawberry, banana, and grape smoothie recipe.

Strawberry, Banana, Grape Smoothie Recipe

Delicious!

This is the recipe we use at our house to make smoothies. (It's great for making ice pops, too!)
  • 1 cup strawberries, washed and stems removed (49 calories)
  • 1 cup seedless grapes, washed (110 calories)--I prefer the red seedless grapes
  • 2 medium bananas, peeled and quartered (410 calories)
  • 1 cup almond milk (the brand we use has 40 calories per cup)
  • 1 (6 oz.) container plain yogurt (100 calories)
  • 1 1/2 cups ice
Put all ingredients into the high-powered blender, then blend until smooth.
For smoothies, pour into 2 to 4 glasses (for breakfast, we use 2-20 oz. glasses, which is approximately 375 calories for each glass).

For even more staying power, add 1/2 cup of oatmeal to the mix. The texture is a little grittier, but it still tastes great.

For a different flavor, instead of strawberries, use blueberries, raspberries, sliced peaches, or any other of your favorite fruits.

Do you like smoothies for breakfast?
